Funeral FAQs
What flowers should I choose for a funeral?
Traditionally, people choose flowers in a neutral colour palette, often choosing white lilies, roses, chrysanthemums and carnations. However, the choice is really up to you. We like to work closely with families when choosing funeral flowers and designing floral tributes to ensure that the flowers reflect the personality of the person who has died.
Which floral tribute should I choose?
We understand that this can be a difficult time for family and friends. It is very important to us that we offer families a bespoke experience. This ensures that every floral tribute is unique, reflecting the individuality of the person it has been designed for.
Our florists can offer guidance on choosing an appropriate floral tribute that are personal to both you and your loved ones. You may already have an idea in mind, or you may need a little help to decide on a design, colour, shape and size.
Please call us on 01625 447007 or use the contact form to make an appointment to pop in and see us. If this isn’t convenient, please do not hesitate to call us where we can arrange everything over the phone.
When do you deliver the funeral flowers?
When you place your order, we’ll ask you for details of the following:
- The person that has died.
- The funeral arrangements.
- Contact details of the funeral director.
We will work closely with them to ensure the smooth delivery of the flowers, at a time and place designated by the funeral director. We usually aim to deliver the flowers on the morning of the funeral, a minimum of two hours before the service.
When do I need to order funeral flowers by?
We recommend that you place your order a minimum of 72 hours before the funeral service to ensure that we are able to source and design your bespoke tribute. We do understand however that this isn’t always possible; we will always try our best to help, even if it’s last minute. Please don’t hesitate to contact one of our florists and we can discuss what is possible.
Can I include a message with my flowers?
Yes! You can always choose to include a personal message with your floral arrangement. We have a wide selection of message cards to choose from, to suit all styles and colour schemes. If it isn’t possible for you to pop in and choose yourselves, our florists will choose a suitable card to accompany your flowers.
What happens to the flowers after the funeral service?
After the funeral, you may choose to place the flowers at the graveside or in a memorial garden. Some families choose to take some of the flowers home, gift them to friends and family or donate them to a local hospice or care home.
We offer a Repurposing Service where rearrange your funeral flowers into smaller arrangements, e.g. small posies, hatbox arrangements, smaller grave arrangements to place on the graves of other family members. To enquire about this service, please call us or use the contact form below.
